ROCC® Exam Requirements:

Candidates must have at least 6 AMAC ® issued CEUs.
AMAC ® CEUs can be earned by attending seminars, webinars, or watching recorded webinars.

ROCC® Exam Preparation:

To assist candidates in preparation for the exam AMAC has created a ROCC ® Exam Study Guide. The Study Guide is updated annually to reflect new codes and changes within the Radiation Oncology industry. It consists of terminology, codes, resources and test taking tips available to you. AMAC ® suggests that you use the ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS books to help you work through the Study Guide. The Study Guide contains sectional tests to help you as you study and a 150 question practice exam. The Study Guide as well as the aforementioned books may be used for reference during testing. The time frame needed to prepare for the exam will vary based on the candidate’s pre-existing knowledge of Radiation Oncology, the intensity of the candidate’s involvement in Radiation Oncology and the Candidate’s test taking skills. Time frames vary from 6 months to 1 year.

ROCC® Exam:

The ROCC® exam is a 2 hour exam consisting of 150 multiple choice questions. The questions cross all the modalities, evaluation and management coding, compliance, and Medicare policies. Candidates may use their ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS books, any books included as part of a seminar as well as the ASTRO/ACR Guide to Radiation Oncology Coding for reference during testing. The ROCC® exam is offered after select AMAC® seminars and events or may be taken remotely at Pearson VUE testing centers across the United States (Remote exams are subject to a 10% convenience fee).

Radiation Oncology Certified Coder Benefits:

Candidates who pass the exam will become Radiation Oncology Certified Coders (ROCC®). Included with the ROCC® membership is access to the AMAC® Bulletin Board, and discounted educational opportunities in webinars, recorded webinars, and seminars.
