In order to sit for the ROCC® Exam, candidates must have at least 6 AMAC® CEUs. AMAC® CEUs can come from webinars, CDs, Podcasts and/or seminars.
In order to help you adequately study for the exam, we have prepared a Study Guide to assist you. The Study Guide is updated annually to reflect new codes and changes within the Radiation Oncology industry. It consists of terminology, codes, resources and test taking tips available to you. You will need the same books you can use on the test to help you work through the Study Guide. It contains sectional tests to help you as you study and a 150 question practice exam. AND, the Study Guide can be used on the test.
The ROCC® exam is a 2 hour exam consisting of 150 multiple choice questions. The questions cross all the modalities, evaluation and management coding, compliance, and Medicare policies. Candidates may use their ICD-9, CPT, and HCPCS books on the test. Books included as part of a seminar and the ASTRO/ACR Guide to Radiation Oncology may also be used.
The time frame needed to prepare for the exam will vary based on the candidate’s pre-existing knowledge of Radiation Oncology, the intensity of the candidate’s involvement in Radiation Oncology and the Candidate’s test taking skills. Time frames vary from 6 months to 1 year.
Candidates who pass the exam will become Radiation Oncology Certified Coders (ROCC®). Included with the ROCC® membership is access to the AMAC® Bulletin Board, the ROCC® Solid Newsletter, and discounted educational opportunities in webinars, CDs, Podcasts, and seminars.
