AMAC is pleased to announce Dr. Michael Steinberg as our guest speaker at this year's seminar.  Dr. Steinberg is Professor and Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.  His professional career spans private, corporate and academic practice and is know for the development of multi-site radiation oncology care networks that are characterized by clinical excellence and community based clinical research.  Dr. Steinberg has specific expertise in the treatment of tumors of the GU system, breast and head and neck.  He specializes in the use of technically advanced treatment modalities such as Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) and brachytherapy for the treatment of malignancy.

 

Seminar Overview:

The Radiation Oncology Certified Coder Exam (ROCC^®) will be offered immediately following the seminar. The optional ROCC® examination is $495 per person.

 

The seminar is a step by step course on radiation oncology billing compliance and documentation. You will receive the latest release of Radiation Oncology: Coding, Billing, Documentation and Compliance by Linda L. Lively MHA and James E. Hugh, III, MHA of American Medical Accounting and Consulting (AMAC^®) and the newly released Principles of Billing, Coding & Compliance for Radiation Oncology by Carl. R. Bogardus, Jr., M.D. of BMSi. Both are specifically updated for the seminar and cover Medicare rules and regulations, current CPT coding, and many clinical examples.

 

 

 

CEU certificates will be provided following the end of the final session.  No partial credit will be awarded for attending less than the designated activity planned time.  Those participants leaving before the end of the final session will not receive CEU certificates.  Keep in mind, this is a stipulation from the accrediting entities not an AMAC® or BMSi rule.

 

Course Outline 

The seminar covers a broad range of topics to meet the greatest needs of the attendees. Each section is sub-divided into specific detailed topics, procedures, codes, rules, regulations, and general historic perspective. The goal of the seminar is to teach participants techniques of proper charge capture, recognition of proper documentation, and a full understanding of coding. Attendees will learn how to bring their billing departments into full compliance.
